DKF Prescription Mapping is an independent precision ag and data management consulting business. It is based in Southwestern Indiana and is working with customers in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. Its focus is providing high-quality data management services for precision agriculture applications.
We collect the data you generate with your equipment, pull soil tests on your fields and collect any other precision ag data that you have for your operation. We then organize, edit, and can analyze the data in an effort to provide you with information that aids in managing your farm operation efficiently.
Access to your information is provided through the internet and can be viewed on many devices that connect to the internet.
The goal of this company is to take the time necessary to tailor our services to your interests and ideas, collect all your precision ag data in one place so that the information can be analyzed, and allow you to run any color equipment and purchase your inputs from any ag retailer.
We are happy to meet with you and your agriculture input representatives to use their expertise in placing products and assigning rates or designing product test plots. We do not sell any products. This is how you can maintain quality un-biased information about what you have done in the past, and make plans for the coming year.
#1 Reason you need an independent data management service:
Most companies who offer precision ag services are focused on selling products not managing your data. This can lead to the loss of data or the collection of only certain pieces of your farms information. A data management service is focused on collecting a complete and quality set of data, providing you access to the information, and working with you to generate useable information from the data.
Key examples of problems you may run into if input companies collect your data:
Ag retailer A pulled all my soil tests, but Ag retailer B has a better fertilizer price.
Will retailer A give retailer B your soil test information or fertilizer recommendations?
Seed company A collects your yield maps but now you want to use Seed Company B.
Will seed company A make a variable rate seed map for Company B or will you have to wait 2-3 years for seed company B to buildup a database history for your fields?
Examples and more information coming soon.
